Located on the border to Europe, ATI is necessarily concerned with migration to, within, and from Tunisia. As migrants are among the most vulnerable groups in our society, we have been interested
in their lives and experiences through several projects.
Through a first project, carried out for Expertise France, we described in the experiences of the descendants of Tunisian
immigrants in France and in Tunisia.
ATI also carried out two other assignments in the area of migration:

Harraga Project, implemented by IPA - Innovation and Planning Agency, Tunisia: Design of the communication strategy for the Harraga Project to reduce illegal
immigration over the Central Mediterranean Route. Project funded by EU, Austrian Ministry of Interior and GIZ.

Making Migration Safe for Women, implemented by UN-Women, Niger: Development and pre-testing of survey instrument on the situations of women
migrating from, into, through and returning to Niger. This second assignment was carried out together with consultants from Niger, among others Aboubacar Souley, and Sidiki Guindo, who also
participated in the Neglected Tropical Diseases project in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso.
